JAKARTA, THE NUSANTARA POST- The National Capital (IKN) of the Nusantara has attracted the interest of many parties in the world. Space Exploration Technologies Corporation (SpaceX) is no exception, a technology company founded by Elon Musk.
SpaceX wants a runway in the archipelago for high-speed aircraft launches.
“They (SpaceX) asked Indonesia to have one of their points at IKN, apart from BIak, for a place to launch airplanes with extraordinary speed,” said State Minister for National Development Planning (PPN) / Head of Bappenas Suharso Monoarfa some time ago.
Suharso imagines that the flight to the United States (US) which is now taking a dozen hours, could be shortened to just two hours.
“So from Indonesia to the US it’s only 1.5 or 2 hours. I hope it doesn’t stop at the North Pole,” he explained jokingly.
It’s just that Suharso has not confirmed the request, because it needs to be discussed seriously in a cabinet meeting.
According to Suharso, this is a form of Indonesia’s wealth which is located in the equatorial zone.
“Because it is considered very possible, and from there airports will appear that will take them to Singapore, other Asian countries, Australia and so on. One of the wealth of the equator is for the launch,” he explained (CNBC/TNP)
