JAKARTA, THE NUSANTARA POST- Head of the State Intelligence Agency (BIN), Budi Gunawan said that the National Capital (IKN) of the Nusantara would be the new locomotive in the transformation of Indonesia. Indonesia’s development in the future is believed to be evenly distributed, because the capital city is in the middle.
“IKN Nusantara is a brilliant and visionary idea from President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) which will be the locomotive of Indonesia’s transformation in the future,” said BIN Head Budi Gunawan in a press statement in Jakarta, Sunday, February 6, 2022.
Budi believes that the archipelago will become a new magnet for economic growth in Indonesia, which so far has only been concentrated in Java. He also believes that remote areas will be splashed with benefits after IKN Nusantara is established.
Nusantara is also believed to be an environmentally friendly city. The concept of smart city, green city, and green economy is believed to be realized in the Nusantara.
Budi fully supports the relocation of the capital city to the Nusantara. This is because the population in Java, especially Jakarta, is already too dense. The relocation of the capital city is believed to be able to ease the burden on Java, especially Jakarta.
“This of course makes the burden on Java, especially Jakarta, even heavier. The high population density will cause various social, economic and security problems,” said Budi.
Security in running the government in the Nusantara is also believed to be better than Jakarta. Some predictions say Jakarta will sink within ten to 15 years from now due to rising sea levels.
Jakarta is also prone to earthquakes. Several times the earthquake in Banten was felt strongly in Jakarta, especially residents who live and work in tall buildings.
Budi fully supports the relocation of the capital city. He also invited the public to support the Nusantara to become the new capital city of Indonesia.
“Let’s all support the development of the new IKN. Don’t let false narratives appear to reject the construction of the capital city of the Nusantara,” he said (Wan)
