BALIPAPAN, THE NUSANTARA POST- President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo (Jokowi) inspects infrastructure development in the Capital of the Archipelago (IKN) area, in North Penajam Paser Regency, East Kalimantan, Tuesday (25/10/2022).

The President said that a number of infrastructure progress such as dam construction, land development, and road access were going well.

“Land development for the ministry, for the vice president’s building, for the president’s building, I have seen everything in the preparation process. The construction of road infrastructure has also started, especially the toll road from IKN to Balikpapan. I think this is good progress,” said the President in his statement at the Sepaku Semoi Dam.

The President said that the overall progress could be seen in January. The President said that the progress of the new economic center would also be seen, so it is hoped that the development of the IKN area can continue to run well.

“Later we can see in January, God willing, if not only government buildings, but private sector (private sector), investors, PPP (public private partnership) have entered and started. This will make IKN truly the center of the new economy and we hope it will continue to move,” said the Head of State.

President Jokowi made a working visit to IKN by sea, which will become the logistics transportation area for IKN. The President said that the port in the area will also be developed for public transportation.

“While we first use it for logistics and later in my opinion at the current port, this is an old port, this will also be developed for passengers and logistics,” he said.

Seeing these various progresses, the President is also optimistic that the commemoration ceremony of the Indonesian Independence Day on August 17, 2024 can be held at IKN.

“Yes, if it works like this, I think God willing, we must be optimistic,” said the President.

Also accompanying the President in the activity were the Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, and Head of the IKN Authority Agency Bambang Susantono ***
