Bilateral meeting, President Jokowi and Joe Biden Optimistic that the G20 Summit Opens Opportunities for Cooperation

BALI, THENUSANTARAPOST.COM-Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) held a bilateral meeting with the President of the United States (US) Joseph Robinette Biden or Joe Biden in a series of G20 Summit activities at the Apurva Kempinski Hotel, Nusa Dua, Bali on Monday (14/11/2022).

At the meeting, the two heads of state agreed with the optimism that the G20 Summit meeting in Bali could open up opportunities for wider cooperation, in the global interest in facing the uncertainty of the economic situation.

“Welcome President Joe Biden to Bali. Welcome to Indonesia to attend the G20,” President Jokowi said via virtual broadcast.

According to President Jokowi, on behalf of the Indonesian government, he greatly appreciates the presence of President Joe Biden who took the time to attend the G20 Summit which will take place over two days, namely 15-16 November 2022.

“Tomorrow we will start the G20 Summit,” said the President.

The President hopes that the G20 Summit will open opportunities for cooperation between the countries participating in this prestigious meeting. Thus, it can encourage a faster global recovery.

“It is hoped that the G20 Summit will present concrete cooperation that will have an impact on global economic recovery,” said the President.

Responding to this, US President Joe Biden said he was grateful for the hospitality shown when welcoming him to the G20 Summit. The G20 Summit is a very important event in driving global recovery. Because, from these activities will create togetherness in the form of cooperation.

“Together we will create a better future through partnership,” said President Joe Biden.

From the meeting, the President said there was a cooperation opportunity worth USD 700 million. Through a number of renewed cooperation in various sectors including transportation.

In the context of holding the G20, President Joe Biden appreciated President Jokowi’s launch of the Financial Intermediary Fund (FIF). This is because the funds can protect the people of each country from the threat of future epidemics. “I appreciate the launch of a pandemic fund that can protect our communities from the outbreak,” said Joe Biden (IP/TNP)
