SINGAPORE, THE NUSANTARA POST – President Jokowi welcomed the interest of Singaporean investors to be involved in the development of the National Capital City (IKN) of the Nusantara. This was conveyed by Jokowi in a joint press conference with Singapore Prime Minister (PM) Lee Hsien Loong after the 2023 Indonesia-Singapore Leaders Retreat in Singapore, Thursday (16/3).
“I welcome some of the results of the Leaders’ Retreat, the first of which is the huge interest from Singapore investors in the development of the National Archipelagic National Institute,” Jokowi said in a press conference broadcast live on the official YouTube channel of the Presidential Secretariat.
The President revealed that from the Leaders’ Retreat there were 20 Singaporean private companies that had submitted letters of interest or “Letters of Intent” (LoI) to invest in IKN Nusantara.
On the same occasion, PM Lee stated that IKN Nusantara would be a pilot project for the Singapore-Indonesia memorandum of understanding (MoU) regarding urban and sustainable housing development.
“We signed an MoU for the development of urban and sustainable housing which will facilitate cooperation in building, financing and innovation of smart and sustainable infrastructure, especially we will include Nusantara as a pilot project,” said Lee.
PM Lee admitted that during the Leaders’ Retreat he and President Jokowi had discussed the National Archipelago for a long time. PM Lee lauded the green and smart vision of IKN Nusantara as a priority for President Jokowi. “Singapore is happy to support President Jokowi’s vision, contributing through knowledge sharing activities, research activities, and joint development,” he said.
PM Lee added that one of the MoUs signed by Singapore-Indonesia during the Meeting Retreat included collaboration in knowledge sharing, capacity building, research to support planning, the development of IKN Nusantara as a smart and sustainable city.
PM Singapore confirmed that several of his country’s private sectors had expressed interest in the IKN Nusantara project. Therefore, PM Lee had conveyed to President Jokowi that his party was looking forward to an investor forum related to Nusantara which Indonesia plans to hold in May 2023. “We will encourage entrepreneurs and Singaporean entrepreneurs to participate in it,” said Lee (Ant/KBI).

Presiden Jokowi Sambut Baik Minat Investor Singapura Terlibat Pembangunan IKN
“Saya menyambut baik beberapa hasil Leaders’ Retreat ini, yang pertama besarnya minat investor Singapura untuk pembangunan IKN Nusantara,” kata Jokowi dalam konferensi pers yang disiarkan langsung kanal YouTube resmi Sekretariat Presiden.
Presiden mengungkapkan bahwa dari Retret Pemimpin tersebut terdapat 20 perusahaan swasta Singapura yang telah menyampaikan surat ketertarikan atau “Letter of Intent” (LoI) untuk berinvestasi di IKN Nusantara.
Dalam kesempatan yang sama, PM Lee menyatakan bahwa IKN Nusantara akan menjadi proyek percontohan untuk nota kesepahaman (MoU) Singapura-Indonesia terkait pengembangan perumahan urban dan berkelanjutan.
“Kami menandatangani MoU pengembangan perumahan urban dan berkelanjutan yang akan memfasilitasi kerja sama pembangunan, pendanaan, dan inovasi infrastruktur cerdas dan berkelanjutan, terutama kami akan memasukkan Nusantara sebagai proyek percontohan,” kata Lee.
PM Lee mengaku dalam Retret Pemimpin tersebut dirinya dan Presiden Jokowi cukup lama membahas mengenai IKN Nusantara. PM Lee menyanjung visi IKN Nusantara yang hijau dan cerdas sebagai prioritas bagi Presiden Jokowi.”Singapura dengan senang hati mendukung visi Presiden Jokowi, berkontribusi melalui aktivitas berbagi pengetahuan, aktivitas penelitian, dan pembangunan bersama,” katanya.
PM Lee menambahkan bahwa salah satu MoU yang ditandatangani Singapura-Indonesia dalam Retret Pertemuan ini mencakup kolaborasi dalam berbagi pengetahuan, pengayaan kapasitas, riset untuk mendukung perencanaan, pembangunan IKN Nusantara sebagai kota cerdas, dan berkelanjutan.
PM Singapura mengonfirmasi beberapa sektor privat negaranya telah mengemukakan ketertarikan terhadap proyek IKN Nusantara.Oleh karena itu, PM Lee telah menyampaikan kepada Presiden Jokowi bahwa pihaknya menyongsong forum investor terkait Nusantara yang rencananya akan digelar oleh Indonesia pada Mei 2023. “Kami akan mendorong para entrepreneur dan pengusaha Singapura untuk berpartisipasi di dalamnya,” ujar Lee (Ant/TNP)
