NUSANTARA, TERKINI.COM – President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) welcomes the arrival of environmentally friendly electric-based transportation in the Capital of the Nusantara (IKN).
The investment of Rp250 billion by the Blue Bird Group will accelerate the development of the public transportation system in IKN.
“The launch of environmentally friendly transportation will expedite the development of an electric-based public transportation system in the Capital of the Archipelago,” said President Jokowi in his speech during the launch of Blue Bird Group’s environmentally friendly transportation on Thursday (12/21/2023) in the Capital of the Nusantara (IKN), Penajam Paser Utara, East Kalimantan.
The President emphasized that the development of IKN, which adopts a forest city concept, will prioritize environmentally friendly technology, ranging from green buildings, green energy, to transportation.
“And the investment made by the Blue Bird Group will be used for the development of an environmentally friendly transportation system, the procurement of electric bus rapid transit to support urban services, electric taxis, electric rental cars, as well as bus routes from Balikpapan to IKN,” said the Head of State.
In addition, the President revealed that the Blue Bird Group would also provide supporting facilities managed in an integrated manner using smart technology, such as the provision of stops, park and ride facilities, transfer point depots, and charging points.
“I appreciate and highly value the commitment of the Blue Bird Group to support environmentally friendly transportation initiatives in IKN to create a future of sustainable mobility and a cleaner and healthier environment,” he concluded (Wan).
