JAKARTA, THENUSANTARAPOST.COM – Ten of Indonesia’s most influential public figures have joined forces to demand swift and decisive action from the government to help end the bloodshed in Gaza.
Gathering at Mardin Fine Baklava Cafe in Kemang on Monday (Aug 11, 2025), the group officially launched a petition addressed to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Their call is clear: urgent diplomatic intervention, sustained humanitarian access, and a stronger Indonesian stance on the global stage in support of Palestine.
The initiative, completely independent of any political or institutional backing, is being spearheaded by a diverse line-up of influencers from music, media, faith leadership, and youth activism — all united by a shared sense of moral responsibility.
The signatories include:
Michelle Santoso, Rebecca Reijman, Bella Fawzi, Inara Rusli, Savitri, Ratu Nur Annisa, Dodi Hidayatullah, Erick Yusuf, Pizaro Ghozali Idrus, and Asma Nadia.
“Neutrality is no longer an option in the face of injustice,” the group emphasized, pledging to amplify the voices of Gaza’s besieged civilians.
The petition makes three key demands:
-
Immediate Indonesian diplomatic intervention to end the genocide and halt the occupation.
-
Sustained, unhindered humanitarian access for aid and medical relief into Gaza.
-
A bolder diplomatic voice from Indonesia in international forums, reflecting the will of its people.
Organizers say the petition will be formally delivered to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the coming days, and they hope it will inspire a regional wave of solidarity.
