NUSANTARA, THENUSANTARAPOST.COM – Foreign investment interest in Indonesia’s new capital city, Nusantara (IKN), continues to grow. This time, the Anhui Provincial Government of China expressed its readiness to expand cooperation with the IKN Authority, particularly in the infrastructure and housing sectors.

This was conveyed by Liu Xiaohua, Deputy Director General of the Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of Anhui Province, during a visit to Sepaku, Penajam Paser Utara (PPU), on Thursday (August 21, 2025).

“We are exploring investment opportunities in IKN. This meeting marks an initial step, particularly in the infrastructure and housing sectors,” Liu said, as quoted by TheNusantaraPost.com from Antara.

Bringing in Manufacturing & Transportation Investors

Liu explained that Anhui Province is home to many large-scale entrepreneurs, ranging from manufacturing and cement to modern transportation. One of its track records is involvement in the construction of the Jakarta–Bandung High-Speed Railway (KCIC).

With this visit, Liu stressed that Anhui is ready to bring in the right investors to support the development of IKN.

“We will bring investors who match the needs, so they can genuinely contribute to Nusantara’s development,” he added.

IKN Authority Welcomes Positively

On the Indonesian side, Sudiro Roi Santoso, Deputy for Funding and Investment of the IKN Authority, presented the investment potential available across nine development zones of the new capital.

According to him, Anhui’s involvement would be a strategic partnership, not merely an addition of capital.

“Several Chinese investors have already entered IKN’s hotel sector. However, none are from Anhui yet. This cooperation will be strategic—not only to add investment but also to strengthen the grand vision of building Nusantara,” Sudiro explained.

A World-Class City for All

He further emphasized that building IKN is not simply about relocating the capital, but also about Indonesia’s greater mission to create a future city that is green, resilient, and sovereign.

“Partnership with Anhui is part of the effort to make Nusantara a World Class City for All. This collaboration goes beyond investment—it is also part of shaping the global civilizational architecture,” Sudiro asserted (Ant/TNP).
