JAKARTA, THENUSANTARAPOST.COM – September 2025 will be a high-intensity month for Indonesia’s national futsal squad as the Indonesian Futsal Federation (FFI) rolls out a packed international agenda in preparation for two major milestones: the 2025 SEA Games and the 2026 AFC Futsal Asian Cup, set to be hosted on home soil.
The first stop will be an international tournament in China from September 5–11, featuring eight nations: China, Indonesia, South Korea, Thailand, Denmark, New Zealand, Myanmar, and either Laos or the UAE. This competition will serve as a valuable testing ground, exposing the Garuda squad to a variety of playing styles from across the globe.
Following that, Jakarta will take center stage for the second edition of the Indonesia Futsal 4 Nations World Series (4NWS) from September 18–21 at GBK Basketball Hall A, Senayan. The Netherlands and Latvia have confirmed their participation, with one more team set to be announced soon.
The events are fully supported by the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) and Garuda Sepak Bola Indonesia (GSI), with Garuda ID technology integrated into ticketing and fan engagement to elevate the spectator experience.
FFI Chairman Michael V. Sianipar emphasized that the tournaments are not just about fine-tuning tactics, but also about cultivating a winning mentality and boosting Indonesia’s international futsal exposure. “These are not mere warm-up games. They are steps towards building a resilient team, mentally and technically, to face the region’s and continent’s best,” he said.
Earlier this year, Michael met with PSSI Chairman Erick Thohir to present ongoing programs and outline next year’s initiatives. This collaboration reflects the growing synergy between FFI and PSSI in developing a stronger, more integrated futsal ecosystem aligned with Indonesia’s football excellence roadmap.
Both events will serve as crucial stepping stones toward the AFC Futsal Asian Cup 2026, which Indonesia will host from January 27 to February 7, 2026—a tournament the Garuda squad is determined to shine in (Wan).
