Anas Al-Sharif, an Al Jazeera journalist.
GAZA, THENUSANTARAPOST.COM – “If these words reach you, it means the Israeli occupiers have killed me and silenced my voice.”
Those haunting words were the opening of the final message left by Anas Al-Sharif, an Al Jazeera journalist killed in an Israeli airstrike near Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza on August 11.
The strike targeted a press tent, killing seven journalists — five of them from Al Jazeera:

-
Muhammad Naufal (Photographer)

Mu’min Aluywah (Driver)
Gaza authorities condemned the attack as a blatant and deliberate targeting of media workers whose reporting exposed the brutality of the occupation.
Since the start of what Gaza officials describe as genocide on October 7, 2023, 237 journalists have been killed.
Anas, often threatened for his fearless reporting, knew the dangers he faced. Friends say he was fully aware that the “bombs of the occupiers” had locked on to him — yet he never stopped telling Gaza’s story.
In his will, Anas described Palestine as “the Crown Jewel of the Islamic Ummah” and “the heartbeat of every free soul.”
His death, along with his colleagues, adds to a growing list of journalists who paid the ultimate price for telling the world what was happening in Gaza (Wan)
