JAKARTA, THE NUSANTARA POST- Political economy policy observer Reyhan Noor from the research institute Indonesia Laboratory 45 (LAB 45) revealed that the Letter of Intent (LOI) of 11 companies from Malaysia is proof that the development project for the National Capital City (IKN) of the Nusantara in East Kalimantan has an attraction great for investors.

“The LOI shows that the construction of the IKN does have quite a large appeal for investors,” Reyhan said in Jakarta (12/1).

He also added that the agreement will have a more positive impact if investment is shown for greenfield sectors rather than brownfield sectors.

In addition to adding the ability to carry out development thanks to the adoption of technology and systems from foreign investment, the investment plan is also the first step in implementing the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) or Public-Private Partnership scheme so that the development of IKN can ease the burden on the State Budget.

“Malaysia’s LOI investment in IKN is early evidence that the potential and feasibility of this project is real and rational for investors. In the future, investors will certainly be more interested, especially if the government can turn the LOI into a real investment in a short time,” Reyhan said as quoted by The Nusantara Post from Antara.

Previously, the Nusantara Capital Authority (IKN) immediately processed Letters of Intent (LOI) for eleven Malaysian companies to invest in IKN Nusantara.

Head of the IKN Authority Bambang Susantono said the IKN Authority would follow up on the LOI immediately. After receiving the LOI, the next step is the IKN Authority will provide a formal answer by attaching several documents, one of which is the Non-disclosure Agreement (NDA).

With the entry of 11 LOIs from Malaysia, it means that to date there have been 71 investors who have submitted LOIs, of which three of them have obtained Project Initiative Permits (SIPP) from the government (Ant/TNP)

LOI 11 Perusahaan Malaysia Jadi Bukti IKN Menarik Bagi Investor
