BALI – THENUSANTARAPOST.COM – The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) emphasizes that the 10th World Water Forum (WWF) to be held in Bali from May 18-25, 2024, has the potential to establish strategic and collaborative partnerships in global water conservation initiatives.
Firdaus Ali, Special Staff (Stafsus) to the Minister of PUPR for Water Resources, stated that the 10th World Water Forum in Bali aims to strengthen international cooperation in water resource management. “Through this forum, countries can form strategic and collaborative partnerships to support global water conservation initiatives,” said Firdaus as quoted by TheNusantaraPost.com from ANTARA on Thursday (04/25/2024).
Furthermore, Firdaus added that the World Water Forum will serve as a significant platform for global discussions. The forum will provide opportunities for stakeholders from various countries to share knowledge, experiences, and best practices in water conservation and management.
As the host, Bali is expected to inspire innovations in sustainable water management technologies and promote their implementation worldwide. One notable innovation is the subak system, recognized by UNESCO as a world heritage in community-based irrigation systems.
“The 10th World Water Forum in Bali also aims to formulate policies that support efficient and effective water conservation and management,” said Firdaus Ali.
Additionally, the forum is expected to raise public awareness about the importance of water conservation and the challenges of sustainable water resource management.
The main themes to be discussed at the 10th WWF in Bali include water conservation, clean water and sanitation, food and energy security, and mitigation of natural disasters. A total of 244 sessions in the forum are expected to produce concrete contributions on mainstreaming integrated water resource management for small islands, establishing centers of excellence for water and climate resilience, and designating World Lake Day.
